my first few videos i've put up have been just me and the guitar and i know this isn't live but i wanted to share something that's further along the way in the record-making process and in how i imagine it to sound - this song "kaleidoscope" is from my acoustic EP which I'm working on - i wrote it, produced and recorded it all myself in my flat - i have a version with drums and electric guitars and you can find that on my website (i won't put the link just google "mrkuok")

i thought i'd respond to some comments here too because it gets messy down there :)

some people felt just having just voice and guitar wasn't enough - i disagree - i believe if a song is strong enough it should stand on it's own two feet and all you need is one singer and one instrument. everything else is just packaging and although it can add to a song often it makes it seem better than it actually is - it's not about screaming, it's not about loud sounds - if a song is good it's all about the lyrics, delivery and the music accompaniment you write for it. this is just my opinion though.

just listen to "blackbird" by the beatles.

i'm not in anyway claiming to write anywhere near that standard - but if any of you complain and think "blackbird" is boring and not "loud" enough then please don't listen to my music because you won't enjoy it - but i know plenty of people who do and i guess that's why they've voted me through. when i first got into music i was all about distortion, pushing the voice and fast riffs - i was really into muse - but as i got older i began to care less about how fast or how loud you could play something - but about the emotions you could get out of music. you start to realise matt bellamy's lyrics are garbage and how throwaway pop music "messages" are. you start to appreciate james taylor, marvin gaye, mccartney and lennon - songs that mean a damn sight more than lady gaga's "telephone".

this isn't to say it's a bad song - it's brilliant as a pop song and i still think muse are a fantastic band.

and to voice who complained about us singers just performing to a "coat hanger in our bedroom" and that we didn't have the guts to perform on stage - in the past three months i have played over 20 gigs in london so please think/research before you comment - i just don't own the copyrights to post my live videos :)

but i want to thank again all you guys who've supported me so far especially those who are joining my fan page on facebook - we're up to 2250 fans now so if i go out this round i'll still have taken something away from the experience :) lots of love and happy easter to you all!
