Abel the Artiste Advisor is my alter ego for days when I decide to give my 5 brain cells a holiday and talk about something that doesn’t require intelligence. All of us pretty much drain our brains on a daily basis from work and this space is meant to be light hearted. I happen to believe that celebrities who ask for their privacy to be respected are lame. If you go on television, stand in front of a crowd and sing or anything in the public eye, you have sold your privacy to the devil. It’s a package deal. It’s just like saying,  “Oh I love being a policeman but I don’t want to arrest criminals.”

With that being said, I believe I have cleared the air for my “advice” to one of today’s biggest names in show business.

Lady GaGa, I understand you have a very long name and it must have been frustrating trying to write your name during your exams while the other classmates were halfway through their answers.

But there really isn’t any excuse for you to leave the house like that. There is a reason why certain parts of our body are referred to as private and that’s the way they should be kept. In many parts of the world, they have a horrible name for people who dress the way you do so let’s just skip that and move on to how you can remedy your fashion sense.

WAH. Don’t get me wrong- I love the occasional bubble bath to relax. But Lady GaGa! You should have rinsed, toweled down and gotten dressed first! So please note in future that bubbles are not clothes.

Now for the good- Lady GaGa, you are a fantastic musician. Your first album has made record sales and your music is hogging the radio stations. You are a talented woman and I believe your career will only climb higher. You don’t need all this crazy props- just hire a stylist.

Last week witnessed the debut of me being in front of the camera interviewing people. My better judgement is telling me to lie and say that it went well and that I thoroughly enjoyed myself blah blah blah…

But truth is, if it weren’t for me being in a public place I would have peed myself.

On Thursday, the Yellobus crew went down to the opening of the BALLY flagship store at Ion Orchard and the next day we were off to the Red Dot Museum for Raoul’s showcase of their Spring/Summer 2010 collection.

Both events were teeming with people from the fashion industry(aka as people who judge you by the way you look) as well as some prominent figures from the entertainment industry.

Let me share with you my personal highlight of both days. It was at the BALLY boutique when Fann Wong & Christopher Lee arrived.  Jon, my colleague urged me to approach them. While waiting, I tried to calm myself and take deep breaths. I thought to myself that since the interviews minutes earlier went well, this one should be the same. I told myself I could do it and stood tall beside Fann Wong.

FAIL.

The first thing that went racing through my mind was that I was standing next to two extremely good-looking people and next to them I probably looked like cowdung.

Next I was worried that I might ask something stupid and Fann Wong might get angry and call upon the BALLY security to shoot me.

I blame my wild imagination.

But all in all other than a few minor glitches, I’m pretty satisfied with how everything went. Thank God for video editing software.

Hi there! I’m Abel and you will be hearing a lot more from me on this blog. I hope that quote gives you a rough idea of what kind of a person I am. Most people I know think I’m crazy and untamed like the armpit hair of a !kung bushwoman.

Everyday, I make it a point to laugh until my lungs collapse at least once. I don’t believe in taking anything too seriously as life is delicate and meant to be enjoyed as much as you can.

I love traveling but being 22 years of age, I can’t travel to a lot of different countries as I would have to end up sleeping in a cardboard box and start busking along the streets for enough money to buy a plane ticket back home. However, I’ve never failed to enjoy myself every single time I have gone on a holiday.

My ultimate dream is to one day build a house somewhere along the beach(Fully Air-conditioned)and run a quaint little bar.
